Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that helps young people fight cancer, announces an impressive selection of support acts for its eleventh, annual music and comedy gigs at the Royal Albert Hall.
On Tuesday 22 March Squeeze will be joined by long-time friends and collaborators, The Feeling. The most played act on British radio in 2006, receiving an astonishing 97,436 spins the band will play hits from both critically-acclaimed albums Twelve Stops and Home and Join with Us, including hits like Sewn, Fill My Little World, Never Be Lonely and Love It When You Call. 2011 is set to be a big year for The Feeling, their new album is due out this summer, with one of the tracks already signed up for the BBC’s coverage of the Cricket World Cup.
Long term Teenage Cancer Trust supporter Jon Fratelli will play his first solo London show on Thursday 24 March supporting, Roger Daltrey. Jon will be playing hits from his debut solo album Psycho Jukebox, an album full of melody, pop-psychedelia and classic ’60s-tinged pop.
Miles Kane, of The Last Shadow Puppets and The Rascals fame, kicks off his solo tour supporting Beady Eye on Friday 25 March. As well as being Liam Gallagher’s first major gig with his new band, this will be the first time Miles joins in support. Miles will play hits from his debut solo album, Colour Of The Trap.
Fresh from her Critics’ Choice Award, the biggest new star of the moment, Jessie J, will join MOBO and BRIT winner Tinie Tempah on Sunday 27 March. This is the first chance to see Jessie J perform hits from her upcoming album Who You Are, including her number one single Price Tag before she starts her own UK tour in April.
Completing the London born line-up on Sunday 27 March is singer songwriter Maverick Sabre and his unique wave of soulful vocals. Rising star Maverick is winning much acclaim for his wave of hip-hop inspired folk.
