November shows announced
‘Polly, The New Single, released September 3rd, 2012’
This September will see The Heartbreaks release ‘Polly’; the second single to be taken from their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Funtimes’. Following this, the band will be playing shows in London and Manchester this November.
‘Polly’ stands as testament to the not so distant past when, before the age of social networking, it was easy to lose contact with someone so very close to you, as life got in the way. Not only is it certain to be one of this summer’s ubiquitous festival anthems, it is also an extraordinary piece of bittersweet, heartache pop.
‘Funtimes’ saw the band build on the buzz of early releases to deliver an album that had Dazed declaring ‘every song is capable of being a single’ and Louderthanwar acclaiming ‘a chiming, shimmering pop gem.’ The band kept up the unique connection they have with their dedicated fanbase with a series of impromptu gigs for Record Store Day that saw them stop the traffic in Berwick St and a monthly ‘Funtimes’ club night in Hoxton that played the music that means so much to the band. To cap it all, single ‘Delay, Delay’ topped a Fly magazine poll for the single of the year so far.
Prior to two UK tours earlier this year, and with numerous Festival dates in The UK and Japan, the band have confirmed to very special shows at London’s Dingwalls and Manchester’s Club Academy, making this the busiest and most successful years for the band to date, with much more yet to come:
