The Killers have announced a very special show at Brixton Academy on Tuesday 12th September. The band will return to the London venue for the first time in over a decade, and ten days before the release of their new album, Wonderful Wonderful. The show announcement comes after the Las Vegas band’s November UK and Ireland tour sold out immediately upon going on sale last month.
Tickets for The Killers at Brixton Academy go on sale to members of the band’s fanclub, The Victims, and in a limited O2 pre-sale at 9am on Wednesday morning (30th August), and on general sale on Friday (1st September) at 9am from here.
Ticket orders will be limited to two per person and fans will need to show photo I.D matching the name on their ticket in order to enter the show.
Following the release of Wonderful Wonderful’s blistering lead single The Man, The Killers played a surprise unannounced set at Glastonbury Festival in June, sold out their British Summer Time show in Hyde Park in record time, and conquered the European festival circuit with a crowd pleasing set of hits, before heading back stateside to headline Lollapalooza in Chicago.
The band went on let week to release a video for the album’s new single Run For Cover. A classic slice of Killers songwriting, the video for the song was directed by Tarik Mikou and stars Galadrielle D’Amico & Tom Hughes Lariviere. Watch it HERE
Wonderful Wonderful will be The Killers’ fifth studio album and their first in five years. Produced by Jacknife Lee, it was recorded at the band’s own Battle Born recording studio in Las Vegas, and at Jacknife’s Los Angeles studio. Wonderful Wonderful is the band’s most sonically forward-thinking record yet, bursting with all of the blazing choruses and arena-pleasing anthems that make them one of the world’s biggest and most beloved rock bands. The album will be released on 22nd September on Virgin EMI.
